Community Rules

PasSQE works because everyone in it is a real person on the same road. These rules keep it useful, safe, and keep your SRA record clean. They apply to everything you post: chat and comments.

Rule 0: never share assessment content

Never post anything about the specific content of any SQE assessment: questions, answer options, scenarios, or even the subject area a question was about. Not from your sitting, not from a friend's, not “hypothetically”.

This isn't our preference; it's your own binding undertaking. Every candidate signs the SRA's Candidate Confidentiality Policy, and breaching it is malpractice under section 13 of the SQE Assessment Regulations. The SRA's published sanctions are an automatic fail and, normally, a permanent ban from ever sitting the SQE again. The SRA has confirmed this covers posting on chat forums.

What you can talk about (the SRA said so expressly): how difficult you found it, how you prepared, how you handled the pressure and your time, logistics, booking deadlines, results. Strategy, pacing, morale: everything meta.

We remove suspected assessment content immediately, ban repeat or deliberate offenders, keep an audit log, and in serious cases we may report the breach to the SRA. If you see it, hit report.

The everyday rules

  • Real names. You appear as your first name and surname initial. No anonymous posting, no impersonation.
  • Keep it professional. No profanity, harassment, bullying or discrimination. Future colleagues, possibly future opponents in court, are reading.
  • No links. Links are blocked in chat. It keeps spam and phishing out.
  • No advertising or self-promotion. No promoting courses, tutoring, recruitment or services.
  • English only in shared spaces, so everything stays readable and moderatable.
  • Chat is ephemeral. Messages disappear from view after 15 minutes. A hidden copy is kept for 30 days for moderation and safety, then permanently deleted.
  • Don't game the leaderboard. Fake study sessions get removed; repeat offenders lose their stats.

Enforcement

Moderators (the two people who run PasSQE) can delete messages, mute (1 or 24 hours), and ban. We aim to be light-handed and predictable: a nudge first, a mute if it continues, a ban for the serious stuff. Rule 0 skips the queue: content comes down first, questions after.
