Terms of Use

Welcome to PasSQE. These terms are a contract between you and ⟨OPERATOR⟩ (“PasSQE”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or subscribing, you accept them. If you don't accept them, please don't use PasSQE.

1. What PasSQE is (and isn't)

• PasSQE is an independent study toolkit and community for people preparing for the Solicitors Qualifying Examination: interactive notes, AI-graded written mocks, live interview practice rooms, spaced-repetition flashcards, a planner, syllabus tracking, a leaderboard and a lounge chat.
• The full toolkit is a paid subscription (see section 5). A free tier gives you the planner and syllabus tracker after a simple email signup.
• We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), Kaplan, or any course provider. The SQE and SOLICITORS QUALIFYING EXAMINATION trade marks are the property of, and are used under licence from, the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
• Nothing on PasSQE is legal advice, professional advice, or teaching of the law. Study plans and statistics are general information. Always verify dates, fees and rules against the SRA's official pages.

2. Your account

• You must be an SQE candidate (or genuinely preparing to become one) and at least 18 years old.
• Accounts are personal and real-name. You're responsible for what happens under your login. One account per person.
• Full access (posting) requires verification of your SQE registration. We may refuse or revoke verification at our discretion.

3. Your content and your responsibility

• You must follow the Community Rules, which form part of these terms. The rule against sharing assessment content is absolute.
• You grant us a non-exclusive licence to display, store and moderate your posts on PasSQE. You keep ownership of them.
• You will compensate us for losses we suffer because a post of yours was unlawful (for example, defamatory). This is what makes “your words, your responsibility” real.

4. Moderation and takedown

• We may remove content, mute, suspend or ban accounts to enforce these terms, the Community Rules, or the law. Suspected assessment content is removed first and discussed after.
• Every message has a report button. We review reports promptly and keep records of removals.
• If you believe content about you is defamatory, email ⟨CONTACT EMAIL⟩ with the details required by the Defamation (Operators of Websites) Regulations 2013 and we will follow that process, including its 48-hour timetables.
• Complaints about illegal content, or about how we've handled a report, go to the same address. We operate a complaints procedure as required by the Online Safety Act 2023.

5. Subscriptions and payment

• The full toolkit is a paid subscription and unlocks everything: the interactive notes, AI-graded written mocks, live interview practice rooms, spaced-repetition flashcards, the planner, syllabus tracking, the leaderboard and the lounge. The free tier (planner and syllabus tracker, after an email signup) stays free.
• Founding pricing is £30 a month or £100 for six months, and it applies to your first billing term. After that term the subscription renews at the standard rate, currently £89 a month or £300 for six months. The price you see at checkout is the price for your first term.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each term (monthly or six-monthly) until you cancel. Payments are taken by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see or store your full card details.
• You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of the term you have already paid for; we don't take further payments after you cancel.
• ⟨REFUND AND COOLING-OFF POLICY, owner to confirm⟩. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
• The service is provided “as is”. We aim for reliability but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and study data (plans, streaks, leaderboards) may occasionally be lost, so keep your own record of anything critical.
• We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut down, we'll give reasonable notice on the site.

6. Liability

• Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
• Subject to that, we are not liable for: content posted by members; your exam outcomes or study decisions; losses that are not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms; or business losses.
• Exam dates, fees and pass-rate figures are compiled with care from SRA sources but may contain errors; the SRA's own pages are always authoritative.

7. Ending things

• You can delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data).
• We can suspend or terminate accounts that break these terms. Serious breaches of the assessment-content rule are permanent.

8. Changes and the boring-but-important bits

• When these terms change, we'll bump the version and you'll be asked to accept again before posting. Continued use of read-only features after notice means acceptance.
• These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; disputes go to the courts of England and Wales.
